It was touched upon, when the creation of the – FACT Coffee publication was coming about; that thousands of people on a global level, now consume vast amounts of coffee. Different delectable varieties of coffee. Over the last years – here in the U.K, has seen the transformation of our high streets. Coffee shops, from main retailers to the smaller, still yet full flavour,independent vendors, all trading in unison of abundance up and down all good highstreets far and wide.

“Coffee is here, coffee in the morning, coffee in the afternoon, for in the evening if you want to stay awake late too!”

In the modern world of today, it was only right that the main way to consume coffee on delivery, whilst receiving your coffee from your local coffee shops, is via the humble plastic cup. The humble plastic cup is fine, yet there are many issues that the humble plastic cup comes with on an: not so positive eco, environmental level. 2019 – the environment around us has never been so important. We are in a world wide transition together, in combatting bad practice against ‘bad habits’ against the environment itself. Lets face it, we are after all only human. ‘Welcome to the Reuse Revolution!’

Back in the year of ‘1998’, in the amazing land of Australia, a respectable couple began their intrepid journey into the world of coffee.  The forward thinking couple (Jamie and Abigail) owned their own café, no mean feat what so ever. As depicted above, with so many other traders all vying for top coffee hot spot. Naturally their trade grew and grew. During this time their eco protection senses kicked in, they then began to see as well as think of all the plastic cups (humble as they were) going out into the big wide world beyond. With so much unrecyclable materials such as polythene being built into the structures of the cups. By the year of 2007, they had trialled many designs of reusable cups, only to find not much success in this market. It was from here that they resolved to create their own highly – reusable coffee cup. It was here where the remarkable now known as: KeepCup was created.

Taking a huge humble gamble in the practice, of usability that a new sustainable aesthetic design, could create a positive change in consumer behaviour, centred around how the populous think towards this coffee cup; convenience culture. The main aim: to switch – start, behaviour change of the good people, from ‘discard to reuse‘ when consuming their coffee on a regular basis.
