Legendary DJ and producer DJ Rap returns with her latest single ‘Firing Shots‘. Released on her own imprint, Propa Talent, it’s a high-octane club banger that leaves the mind activated, another stellar addition to a back catalogue that needs no introduction.

‘Firing Shots‘ opens with an amorphous pad arrangement. Ethereal and cloud-like, it floats through the speakers to create a weightless atmosphere in the tune’s opening moments.

Joining this sound is a pitch-bent vocal sample, modulated synths and drum arrangements. The latter builds to a fever pitch, drops and goes again as DJ Rap blends in an old-school rave sample, leaving the listener in anticipation for the verse.
When the verse hits, ‘Firing Shots‘ becomes an all-action dancefloor banger.

Distorted basslines fly through the speaker while a rapid-fire drum line skates underneath them; It’s exhilarating, a constant burst of forward motion decorated by the signal-jammed sample of the emcee.
An experienced dancefloor conductor, DJ Rap knows the need for a breather. Among the sonic madness comes a breakbeat section, in which Rap layers with stargazing, rave-like melodies.
